The Firefighter program is a program meant to provide the perspective of a firefighter, and learn the essential knowledge and skills that will allow students to become volunteer and/or career firefighters within an organization both during and after graduation.

Program Courses

Introduction to Public Safety and Law
NOT a required prerequisite for the Firefighter program. Basic career information in corrections, emergency & fire management, security & protection, law enforcement, & legal services. Create a plan for a career in public safety.

Firefighter 1
Certifications include First Aid, CPR, Hazardous Materials Awareness & Hazardous Materials Operations. Live fire suppression evolutions. Successful students will achieve SCFA CTC Firefighter 1 certification.

Firefighter 2
Certifications include Automobile Extrication, National Incident Management System, & Emergency Medical Responder. Successful students will achieve SCFA CTC Firefigher 2 certification. Possible co-op experiences at local Fire Departments.
